I uploaded 2 scenes from Heroes, one on the 24th April, of the Peter and Sylar fight from the Heroes ep 0.07% and a video of the finale ending yesterday. I got an email from Youtube saying they had removed the vids due to a fucking copyright DMCA claim by NBC Here is what they had to say:

The Peter fight was 1 and a half mins long, and the finale scene was 7 mins long. I can’t fucking believe they removed them. I also have some Smallville scenes uploaded, probably the CW is gonna have then removed aswell

Some stats: the Peter/Sylar scene had 2,597 views and the Heroes Finale scene had 314 views.

I took the time out from my revision to watch this since I had it . Its definitely worth watching, although I would have liked to see a longer fight between Spiderman and Venom.

Black Spiderman was interesting, I reckon the black suit looked better then his normal blue and red one. The ending was a bit dodgy though, he was beaten up quite badly, then makes a comeback, with the help of Green Goblin Jr.

Overall, its worth taking the time to watch, but it can’t compare to the Original film. I reckon a fair rating would be 3/5.

I also started buying some DVDs from Play.com, they have a bargain offer there, selling DVDs for £5 delivered. So far I bought quite a few of my favs, even though I have them already in avi format .

Just under 2 weeks until my first exam, and it happens to be the toughest one!!! Probability and Matrices! , and then another 2 exams one day after the other. I’ve been doing some revision, but after Prison Break finished, I started watching Smallville again, I had stopped watching it mid-season 5 a while back.

I know I shouldn’t have done this now, but I decided to watch all of Smallville again from Season 1. I’ve been finding it hard to concentrate on my exams instead of watching Smallville . I put all the Smallville episodes on my external HD, which I don’t always have plugged in, so that I might not be bothered to get it out, and start watching it. It has kinda worked, but I still find excuses to get it out . I also put some short Smallville clips up on Youtube, and also in my gallery.

In other “news,” my External HD is filling up, only 70GB left out of the 299GB formatted capacity. My films and tv folders take up about half of that , I also recently discovered the wander of newsgroups, and have started using that more then torrents, which is good since my ISP throttles my Interweb Tubez . I’m seriously considering buying a 500GB Western Digital External Drive for my downloads.

I finally got around to buying mini-sd card for my pda. If you are looking to buy any memory cards, I’d say its worth the visit to Moby Memory, they have good prices and good bundles. I bought my Sandisk Ultra II 2GB mini-sd card for £22, which included a free usb mini sd card reader .

I also have plans for moving this site to another domain, I have my eye on a domain name that should be available soon and if that doesnt work, then I might move the site to Al-Capwn.com.

My blogging engine development is currently on hold, since I got it marked at uni. I don’t know whether to continue making it, or just to drop the project. *shrugs*

Bad news first, my old phone has become messed up, buttons stopped working, etc, etc, and I decided to buy a pda phone. One shop I tried to buy at processed my card halfway then gave an error about fraud . I tried again and same thing. No problem me thinks, and I’m off to another online shop to buy. There its all good, my order goes through. I check my account online, and I see that the store that gave the error has taken the money out twice.

The good news is yesterday my pda, a HP iPAQ rw6815, arrived and today the money came back to my account . I’m not sure why the money was taken for two days and where and tbh, I dont really care.

I’ve added some pics of the pda and my old nokia 7610 phone. The pda looks bigger in width then it really is, but its shorter then the nokia but slightly wider. I’ve yet to install any real software on it, atm, I just have an irc client and notepad lol.

Been busy with work and stuff. Come April and I’m free……….until May………when I have my exams.

3 courseworks to hand in in the next few weeks, Java Project, PHP Project and XML/XSLT Project. I’m doing fine on the PHP one, but I’m stuck on Java and XML.

Recently as some people will know, I started learning php and recently I learnt some Javascript. So I decided to put my knowledge to work and make something useful……and here it is

I made an ajax contact form after doing some reading, especially Rasmus’ 30 second AJAX Tutorial. Anyhow, it works pretty good I reckon, not as good as some other ones, but good enough for a learner I suppose. A “live” version can be found here. The full download is also available in my download area, a link is also below. I’m pretty pleased with the outcome, and hope people will like it Unfortunately, its easy to break the form, but hopefully I’ll find a better way to get it working. I’ve added comments to the code, so hopefully it will be easy to change.

But not this blog

I asked a few people from Neowin IRC to have a look at my blog project for uni, and to see what holes they could come up with. Seems like I made some major mistakes in not properly checking the input of a post.
They managed to add some javascript to the page by posting, and borked the page, nothing serious, just a js redirect. I’m not sure if they could have done it without the demo account, so at the moment, I’ve decided to disabled it.

The good news is I fixed all the bugs (I hope) found by them, and so far so good. It was interesting to see what a silly mistake it was that I made, it could’ve been much more serious if it had been a malicious person. But, I did learn a few good things out of this, mainly ALWAY validate the input before doing anything else first. Thanks to Dev and Kudos for having a look, and telling me how to fix it.

The posts they made are still there, so if you wanna have a look, head over here and see what the mistake was. Their posts will probably be deleted once I import the database next time, so if it ain’t there, then see a screenshot here.
